BACKEND TECHNOLOGY
This is probably another section you didn’t consider when starting an online store. The backend of the system is the support side of your website that you use to manage your day to day operations. By having the backend technology with all the features you need, you can have your business running on Auto Pilot while keeping everything 100% organized as far as customer service and day to day operations.
Go into any company or office that doesn’t use an advanced computer database and see what there office looks like. If you can’t imagine that, then imagine a bank recording everything only on paper. You would need thousands of more people to manage it. Shopping Cart Elite is used today by multiple multi million dollar corporations. One of these corporations only has 5 people managing day to day operations using this same system. If this system didn’t exist we estimated that for every one employee there would need to be another 10 do to the job properly if shopping cart elite didn’t exist.
The backend technology is so advanced on Shopping Cart Elite that as you expand you will be able to manage your business without any hassles or problems.
BACKEND FEATURES
ACCOUNTS
- New Orders – A simple step by step wizard allows you to place new orders. If you ever get new employees the wizard enables help tips, to ensure the employee provides great customer service.
- Price Quotes – Sometime a customer doesn’t want to buy the product. Now you can take his name and email address and email him a user friendly quote for his inquiry and even have the system automatically follow up with it at a later date.
- Check Orders – The system can check on using AJAX technology. You can separate orders by new, old, pending, foreign, partially shipped, shipped, etc.
- Accounts – This information allows you to view all your customer accounts and manage them such as add, edit or delete.
- Internal Managing – This feature is integrated through various screens. A brief summary of the features are
- Internal Notes – No more sticky notes for reminders, everything gets recorded in the notes of a particular order and if the order needs a follow-up you can assign it to an internal user.
- Charge Authorization – Credit card didn’t go through, no problem authorize it later using the backend charge history to process the order.
- System notes – As an order gets invoiced, drop shipped, packed etc. Everything is automatically recorded in the system notes of that order.
- Pending Status – Every order has a pending status screen where a customer can request a status, you reply to the customer and it gets recorded.
- Attachments – Get credit card authorizations or any other form you need from the customer and upload them directly to the specific order. You don’t need to keep anything on file on paper, everything will be on the computer.
- Emails – Shopping Cart Elite Mailer is desktop software which can combine multiple email accounts. The software is equipped with responses that you can input yourself and signatures depending on which user is logged in, to ensure fast and easy email responses.
ORDER MANAGEMENT
- Discount Codes – Manage your price matches, specials, featured items and bulk product discounts.
- Suppliers – Manage your contacts for vendors.
- Import/Export XML – If you have a large quantity of daily orders for a specific vendor and there system can accept orders via XML format, you can export them or even email it to them daily. You can also have orders emailed to you by your customer and import them via XML.
- Fax Orders – You can print orders in a fax format to fax to your vendor, or automatically fax them using electronic fax technology.
- Daily Drop shipments – Allows you to go through the check order list to invoice the correct vendor for an order and then use the Daily Drop shipments to finalize and email the orders. Web services are also available with certain vendors (ex. MimoUSA) to automatically input the orders into there system without email.
- Packing List – Designed for the shipping department. It allows the person packing and shipping to keep track of what is shipping out, deduct quantity and place back orders. Activity in packing list gets recorded in the system to show you the current status of the order.
- RMA Claims – RMA is Return Merchandise Authorization. This system is designed to manage returns and exchanges from your location as well as drop shipping locations. A step by step process is created, starting from the customer claim ending with the vendor who owes you a credit memo and of course the automated refund with your approval to the customer.
MARKETPLACES
- Froogle – Submits your complete data feed of products onto the Froogle Engine.
- Google Sitemap – Submits your complete website on to Google Sitemaps
- Auction Generator (Additional Fees apply) –Auction generator software allows you list your products on marketplaces such as eBay, Amazon, Yahoo Auctions, etc. The software works as a simple wizard allowing you to list thousands of products using your website data in a very nice format on the marketplaces. You can list anything from website using the auction generator. This will increase your revenue as well as your website traffic by cross referencing your website in the listings.
- Yahoo Shopping – Select the products you would like to list and it will generate a feed for Yahoo Shopping.
- Google Adwords – Select the products you would like to list and it will generate a campaign for Google Adwords.
- Overture – Select the products you would like to list and it will generate a list of keyword for Overture.
- Wholesale Distribution (Applies to Wholesale Distributor or Manufacturers only) – Be considered to have your data entered into multiple wholesale distribution drop ship channels, where your products will be sold by thousands of other dealers.
- Article Marketing – A custom wizard which will allow you to post, edit and manage articles. (Tutorial on Article Marketing is included in the wizard)
SALES REPORTS
- Supplier Stats - Shows your statistics of how good the vendors are doing. It shows you how fast the tracking numbers get updated, how many orders are shipped vs. backorders, etc.
- Profit Check ¬– This is a summary which deducts a profit less then 5% from your price vs. customer price.
- RMA Stats – Shows you how many returns you had for what product and a summary for the reasons of return.
- Sales Reports – Perform reports by date such as Sales, Shipping Cost, Orders, Taxes, etc.
TRACKING
- Tracking – A dynamic report of all pending orders that need a tracking #, date of order, past due days, vendor, etc. This feature will allow you or your employee to quickly get updated tracking information from the vendor for pending orders.
MANUFACTURING
- Pending Orders – If you are a manufacture this is designed for the engineers to manage the manufacturing of the order processed as well as employees packing it and bar coding it.
- Reports – Reports shows you the daily activity of all the employees that are apart of the manufacturing process.
FORUM
AFFILIATE
- Payout – Keep track of your affiliate’s payout. You can set it up to pay automatically after a certain period of time.
- Statistics – Shows a report of all your affiliates and the pending balances owed to them.
- Applications – Approve or Decline affiliate applications.
WHOLESALE
(This feature is available as a separate module for wholesale only companies or an addition to the retail side of the company. If you order this as an addition to the retail company a separate website for the wholesale company is recommended but the managing of two website can be performed from the same database using the wholesale module.)
- Dealer Account Management – This is a system where you can edit and manage information such as credits, orders, subscriptions, net accounts, payments, etc. on a dealer account.
- Subscriptions – You can setup monthly subscription for a service that you offer and charge the account automatically on a monthly basis.
- New Services – Design or create new services on your website and have a form submitted from the website to new service screen in your database where you will be able to process the subscription or inquiry manually.
- Rewards Payout – Offer dealers rewards for selling a certain amount of products and manage the payouts.
- Polls – Setup polls for your dealers from the dealer screen.
- Offers – Create customs special offers for dealers to participate in and manage the offers if the dealer accepts it or declines it.
- Auction Generator (Additional Fees may apply) – Allow your dealers to use the auction generator software to help them list your products on marketplaces such as eBay, Amazon, Yahoo Auctions, etc. The software works as a simple wizard allowing the dealer to list thousands of products in a very nice format on the marketplaces.
- Auction Generator Stats – Gives you reports of all the activity of all the dealers using the auction generator.
- Dealer Product Stats – Reports of which products are the hottest seller among the dealers.
- Dealer Sales – Track the activity of your dealers. The report can automatically show you who is purchasing and who stopped purchasing.
- Dealer Login History – Shows a repot by date of which dealer logged in.
- Rejected Dealers – Shows a report of dealers that had there application rejected. This feature allows you to monitor your employees work to make sure they are not making a mistake.
- Dealer Info Changes – Information that the dealer requests to change about his account goes through this screen where every change must be approved before taking effect.
- Announcement – Post announcements to the dealers that will be displayed as a Blog.
- Forum – Manage a forum for dealers only.
INVENTORY
- Stock Management – This feature allows you to add new stock (SKU) with readable bar coding, manage existing stock.
- Product Management – This features allows you to modify the shipping times on products, temporarily put them on back order and modify weight or shipping prices.
- New Product Entry – You may add products one by one or use our Inventory Elite Desktop Software to import products in bulk from new or existing excel sheets. You may add an unlimited amount of products and categories.
ACCOUNTING
- Daily Activity – Shows reports by date of credit changes and refunds issued.
- Collections – An automated collection form gets filled out for a certain collection company. You can either print it out and send it to your collection company or simply submit it through Shopping Cart Elite. Shopping Cart Elite will use there in house collection to collect money and charge a fee from the money collected.
- Error Payment Verification - Features a report showing order with that vary from the amount of the invoice and the amount that was charged on the backend. Also has a report which of which COD orders are still outstanding.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable – An application similar to Quickbooks which is already integrated within your system to completely automate all invoices, sales reports, taxes, bank checks, IRS audits, etc. The system is designed to print checks automatically as an option and the data can be exported to Quickbooks format.
VISITOR TRACKING
- Google Analytics – Simply sign up for Google Analytics and activate the service on Shopping Cart Elite and automatically have all reports through Google Analytics.
- Tracking Reports – Reports by date such as visitor by country, state, keyword, search, etc.
MASS MAILER
- Mass Mailer – Desktop software which will allow you to retrieve the database emails from your backend and send out a newsletters to those email addresses.
- Newsletter Editor – Custom wizard which will generate custom newsletter for you without any knowledge of HTML. Simply choose the layout, graphics and text, and the editor will generate it for you. Then you can use the mass mailer to send out the newsletter to your customers.
LINK EXCHANGE
- Automated Link Exchange – Simply submit a request for a link exchange, when someone fills out the link exchange form it goes through your approval and if approved the link automatically goes on the link page.
EMPLOYEE MANAGEMENT
- Pay Roll and Users – Manage hours, salary and schedules of employees. Add new employees and assign them permission to use the systems. Permissions include for users to see confidential information such as credit cards, vendors, sales reports, etc.
- User Tasks – Assign tasks to employees that they must follow on a daily basis. This will keep the employees organized.
- User Activity – Shows a summary of what each user did everyday. This helps the supervisor keep track of whose doing what.
- Login History – Report by date of which user logged in and when.
- Break Stats – User can take a break from work by clicking on the break button. All breaks will be recorded and if the break time exceeds during the day it will be reported to the supervise
- Announcements – Announce important information to all users using the backend system.
