[LOCAL BUSINESS] How to get 120,000 visitors to your website in one week for FREE with Groupon

So youve heard of a company called Groupon? They rejected a 6 billion dollar cash buyout from Google recently and are about to file their IPO?

Well if you havent they do daily deals for local businesses. One of the Shopping Cart Elite clients was just a part of one and shared his experience with me.

Arkadiy (Ark-a-de) aka Archie from www.efurnitureny.com told me about how he got in and what it was like.

First the CHARTS!! :)

HIS TRAFFIC FROM APRIL - MAY

HIS TRAFFIC IN THE FIRST 2 WEEKS OF MAY

In ONE WEEK he got 2 months worth of unique traffic, and a total of 120,000 actual visitors in just one week. EVEN MORE IMPORTANT these are all LOCALS that are within his 25 mile radius. THEY NOW ALL KNOW ABOUT HIS BUSINESS.

Notice that the traffic is still flowing and I bet it will continue for months and never go down to the old levels again!

In one day he sold hundreds of vouchers ($25 for $100 gift certificate) and hundreds of inquiries on his website.

QUESTIONS:

How much does this cost?

Free! you simply make the offer, get it approved and share a commission on each sale. In eFurnitureNY case, for every $25 he paid out 50% commission to Groupon and kept $11.50 after taxes for himself. He owed the customers $100 - $11.50 so $88.50 was his advertising expense for acquiring the new customer. Of course considering that he put restrictions that the customer cant purchase any items cheaper than $200, he actually broke even on those customers that bought the cheap item, while making money on those that bought full furniture sets.

Most importantly he got free exposures to the locals. PRICELESS!

How did he get with Groupon?

Simple, you just submit your proposal to them on their website and they will contact you back.

How long did they take to contact back?

It took almost 3 months before they called him back, after he was calling them weekly and then daily to return the call. It took another 2 months before the deal went through and they published it live.

Was it worth it?

HELL YES!

What other services has he sent requests to?

After he went live with Groupon he got called from many different ones offering him lower commissions to go with them. Arkadiy was nice enough to provide a list of his next target local deals companies that he will go after.
