Using ‘Import/Export’ for adding and updating categories

1. Import categories to SCE

Create a file and save it as «CSV (Comma delimited)».

Required fields for adding new categories using Import/Export:

  • Category (field using as title for Main Category);
  • Sub Category (field using as title for Sub Category);
  • Section (field using as title for Section Category).

Optional fields for adding/updating categories using Import/Export:

  • cat1ID (main category ID, defined in a numerical value, can find it in ‘Export’);
  • cat2ID (sub category ID, defined in a numerical value, can find it in ‘Export’);
  • cat3ID (section category ID, defined in a numerical value, can find it in ‘Export’);
  • Description (description for category that will be located at bottom of category page);
  • Top description (description for category that will be located at top of category page);
  • Google shopping category (marketplace field that we use for Google shopping);
  • Amazon category (marketplace field that we use for Amazon);
  • Amazon category ID (marketplace field that we use for Amazon, fill by IDs for Amazon category in which products from this category would be located, more about category ID’s for Amazon looks in tab ‘Amazon fields’ > ‘Amazon Group’ > ‘Template ID’ https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1KOWC2hxdHsoFLvvps2hsyF40mVhaPxGvKuzFzVCkN5s/pub?output=html#);
  • Amazon item type (marketplace field that we use for Amazon);
  • Amazonads category (marketplace field that we use for Amazon);
  • Ebay category (marketplace field that we use for eBay, fill by IDs for eBay category in which products from this category would be located);
  • Ebay store category (marketplace field that we use for eBay, fill by IDs for category from client store on eBay in which products from this category would be located);
  • Bing category (marketplace field that we use for Bing);
  • Dropshipdesign category (marketplace field that we use for Dropshipdesign);
  • Oodle category (marketplace field that we use for Oodle);
  • Shopzilla category (marketplace field that we use for Shopzilla);
  • Pricegrabber category (marketplace field that we use for Pricegrabber);
  • Doba category (marketplace field that we use for Doba);

Note: You can get sample file to upload categories if you go to Import/Export > Download Sample CSV File.

Go to Products > Categories.

To import new categories or update existing categories go to Import/Export > Import Custom List. Click on Import Custom List and choose .csv file for uploading. Click Open. Click Save when download is finished.

Export categories from SCE.

Go to Products > Categories and click Import/Export > Export. Name file and click Save. Open ‘export’ file and worked on it.

Note: This type of export doesn’t use ‘Export finished successfully’ pop-up window.
